The Magnum Subsea Gate Valves and Actuators were
first supplied to the industry in 1991 and have continued
to exceed industry expectations. In simulated subsea
tests, the Magnum Subsea Gate Valve and Actuator
surpassed all requirements of API 17D. After the initial
test specification of 2,500 meters (8,203 feet) simulated
water depth, the Magnum Gate Valve and Actuator were
then subjected to 11,000 feet and the valve continued
to perform exceptionally. An additional non-required
test was conducted where the actuator was cycled
4,500 times at full working pressure, proving reliability
and safety in tough subsea operations. The test results
were verified by DNV.
The qualification testing verified the concept of a “Truly
Fail-Close” design as no line pressure or hydraulic control pressure was required to assist in closing the
valve. The Magnum Subsea Gate Valve and Actuator also confirmed its proficiency as sealing “Through
Conduit” in both “Full Open” and “Full Closed”
positions. This function circumvents line pressure from
penetrating the body cavity in these two positions, as
well as inhibiting contamination of grease and
isolating the stem packing from the flow stream. A full
line of Magnum Subsea Gate Valves and Actuators are
offered in sizes ranging from 2-1/16” through 7-3/8” and
working pressures up to 15,000 psi. All material trims
can be supplied, (API material classes AA through HH),
which includes extreme sour service with all well wetted
surfaces fully Inconel clad or solid Duplex Stainless Steel for the bodies and bonnets.
The Magnum Gate Valve is the only gate valve in
the world with redundant sealing...Full Open and Full Closed. The Magnum Gate Valves have passed the
toughest tests. |
